👋 From State Farm Underwriting to Downtown La Crosse: Meet Kyle Visker
State Farm has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I am a second-generation State Farm Agent, and my father spent his career as an agent in Marshall, Wisconsin, before moving into agency management. I followed my own path into the company, beginning in 1990 as a personal lines underwriter.
That path has allowed me to see insurance from several perspectives. I became a State Farm Agent in Lake Mills in 1997, moved into agency management in Green Bay in 2000, and returned to agency ownership when I opened my La Crosse office in 2004. I also hold the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU®) designation, reflecting advanced insurance education in areas including risk management and insurance operations.
My connection to La Crosse began before I lived here. While traveling through the Coulee Region to visit family in Minnesota, I grew to appreciate the area and knew it was somewhere I could call home. When an agency opportunity became available, I jumped at it. I have lived in La Crosse since 2004, and my children attended schools in La Crosse and Onalaska.
Our team adds another layer of experience. Mariah brings 14 years, Andrew nine years, and Valery two years of State Farm experience. Together with my 36 years, our office brings 61 years of combined State Farm insurance experience to the customers we serve.
Community involvement has also become an important part of my life here. I am a member of Downtown Mainstreet Inc. and have belonged to the La Crosse Downtown Rotary for 20 years. My wife and I attend weekly meetings, and I have been recognized three times as a Paul Harris Fellow.
I especially enjoy being involved with Rotary Lights, a La Crosse holiday tradition our Rotary group helped start, as well as the annual spring cleanup along the Mississippi River. Both give me another way to support the downtown, the river, and the community my family and I call home.
